VW ID Buzz

Pre-sales of the new ID Buzz are underway. This coming Friday, May 20th the ID Buzz and ID Buzz Cargo will be available in Germany and many other European markets. From this date forward, you will be able to order the zero-emission VW as an electric bus for your family, business, or leisure activities.

No exact details have emerged of a UK release date; however, Volkswagen did mention previously that it will be released to the UK market at some point later this year.

The ID Buzz will come as standard with the largest battery of the ID line-up to date. Equipped with a lithium-ion battery, offering a capacity of 77 kWh, which in turn is supplied to a single 204bhp electric drive motor at the rear of the vehicle with a torque figure of around 228 ft-lb.

Volkswagen has claimed that the estimated range of the battery is around 264 miles and can be recharged at any DC quick charging stations throughout the UK.

The battery can also be charged from 5 to 80 percent of its capacity in only 30 minutes with a maximum charging power of up to 170 kW. People who enjoy driving long distances will surely find these charging features very helpful.

As for the exterior the ID Buzz features two sliding doors, tinted windows at the rear and black diamond-cut alloy wheels.

In the front door area, there is a VW logo projection accompanied by LED headlights and elegant exterior surround lighting.

There are over 11 two tone colour options available with the ID buzz coming in a monosilver metallic colour as standard, wheel sizes are 18-inch stock with the available options of 19- 20- and 21-inch.

Standard on this vehicle is a 5.3-inch digital driver’s display that offers key driving information, such as your remaining distance and speed. It is like that found in the Volkswagen ID3 and ID4.

A 10-inch infotainment system is mounted in the centre of the dashboard, which can be upgraded to a larger and more advanced 12-inch version if you’re willing to spend a bit more.

Volkswagen’s ID Buzz Cargo light commercial vehicle (shown above) is now available for order in Germany, priced at approximately £46,000 equivalent. In comparison, the five-seater version is a little more expensive. Initial pricing will be around £55,000 for the high-spec ‘Pro’ version, based on recently announced German prices.
